Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 November 2026 · Operated by Oryn.date
Right now: this website collects only the email address you choose to give for the invite waitlist or an inquiry. The Oryn app described below is not open to the public yet, and this page will be updated before it is.
Oryn is a separate, invitation-led space for adults 18 and older. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, who can see it, how long we keep it and how you can remove it.
Separate from Veyra
Oryn has its own accounts, database and sessions. Veyra is a different community product. Linking is a one-time approval you give on Veyra; we never receive your Veyra password. Joining Veyra never enrolls you in Oryn, and Oryn does not read your Veyra posts, messages or social graph. We do not merge accounts by email address.
Visitors and the waitlist
You can browse this site without an account. If you request an invite, we store only the email address you give us, plus the time. We do not store your IP address or link the address to any account. We use it only to tell you if invitations open. It is deleted after 12 months, and you can remove it at any time from the waitlist form or by contacting us. It is not sold or shared for marketing.
What we collect when you have an account
- Account link. A random identifier that represents your Veyra account, your adult (18+) self-declaration and the version of the terms you accepted. We do not collect your date of birth.
- Your choices. Whether you chose dating, and separately whether you allow optional Veyra topic sharing. The history of those choices is kept as a record of consent.
- Your dating profile. Display name, a short “about you”, up to three written prompt answers, what you are looking for, interests, preferences and, if you choose, a coarse location. Your name, about, answers and interests appear on your profile card, shown to members Oryn introduces you to. Your preferences and location are never shown.
- Photos. Up to six, in the order you choose. Members Oryn introduces you to can see them on your profile card, and so can people you match with. Nobody else can. Access is checked each time a photo is requested.
- Introductions and decisions. Which introductions you received and whether you chose Connect or Pass. Your Pass is private and is never shown to the other person.
- Messages. Private chat messages between two mutually connected members.
- Safety records. Reports you send, blocks and unmatches. Reports are reviewed only by moderators.
- Notifications. Short in-app notices, such as a new mutual connection or an unread message. They never contain a name, photo or message text.
- Optional topic summary. Only if you opt in: counts for up to eight broad topics from posts you liked or saved on Veyra in the past 30 days. No post text, no identities, no private messages, no location and no sensitive inferences. Counts expire after 30 days, and they are not currently used to rank introductions.
- Session and security data. A session token and basic request records needed to keep the service safe and working.
How we use it
To create and run your account, choose and deliver introductions, let two people who both chose Connect talk, keep members safe, and operate and secure the service. We do not sell personal data, show advertising or build advertising profiles.
Who can see what
Members Oryn is currently introducing you to see your profile card: photos, name, written answers and interests, and which interests you share. They do not see your location, Veyra account, or choices. If they pass or you pass, they stop seeing it. People you match with keep seeing your card and can message you. Moderators can see reports and what is needed to review them. Service providers that host our systems and store media process data on our behalf under their terms. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist email: up to 12 months, or until you remove it.
- Profile, preferences and decisions: while your account is active, and removed when you delete your account or stop dating.
- Photos: until you remove them, stop dating or delete your account.
- Messages: until the connection is removed (unmatch or block) or either account is deleted.
- Topic summary: at most 30 days.
- Safety reports: kept for as long as needed for moderation and safety records.
Your choices
Inside Oryn you can edit or delete your profile, remove photos, stop dating and interest sharing at any time, and delete your Oryn account. Stopping or deleting takes effect here immediately; removing the link at Veyra is retried until it completes. Deleting Oryn does not delete your Veyra account. You can also report or block anyone, and unmatch a connection, from within the app.
Adults only
Oryn is for people 18 and older. If you believe someone under 18 is using Oryn, report them in the app or contact us and we will act on it.
Changes
If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, for members, tell you in the app before it applies to you.
